The outer ball joint is a safety component which is connected to the knuckle and serves as a flexible coupling point for steering linkages to facilitate seamless mechanisms and establish quicker engine responses to manoeuvre. Joined to the knuckle, the tie rod end transmits the radial loads and allows wheel adjustment by means of the inner tie rod.
